A crop is a plant or plant product that can be grown and harvested for profit or subsistence. A crop is a plant that is cultivated or grown on a large scale. Crop may refer either to the harvested parts or to the harvest in a more refined state. Most crops are harvested as food for humans or fodder for livestock.

Kharif Crops- The crops which are grown in the monsoon season in the month of June-September are known as Kharif crops. Ex- maize, millet and cotton.
Rabi Crops- The crops that are grown in the winter season and harvested in the spring. Ex- Wheat, gram and mustard.
Zaid Crops- The crops that grow in March to July is known as Zaid Crops. These crops are grown on irrigated lands. Ex- Pumpkin, cucumber, bitter groud.
